Senior Engineering Capacity, Without the Western Payroll
Every growing software business meets the same arithmetic: the roadmap is agreed and customers are waiting, but hiring the engineers takes three months and costs more per head than the feature is worth.
Outsourcing to a dedicated development team in Nigeria solves that. Senior engineers join your project within days, at a rate that funds two or three roles for the price of one local hire, and you keep full ownership of everything they build. Done properly it is not a compromise on quality — it is a compromise on geography.
Musskart Technology Limited is a registered Nigerian software company — head office at 93B Ibusa Road, Umuonaje, Asaba 320104, Delta State, with a second office in Abuja — and we have delivered 250+ projects since 2020 across mobile, web, backend and AI. We work with startups, scale-ups and agencies in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the UAE, and with Nigerian corporates, contracted and invoiced in US dollars.
To be plain about what we are: a Nigerian firm serving international clients remotely. We have no US, UK or Australian office and will not pretend otherwise. What we do have is native-English senior engineers, a time zone that overlaps Europe, and rates that make sense.

Three Engagement Models — Pick the One That Fits
Most outsourcing goes wrong before a line of code is written, because the wrong commercial model was chosen. Here are the three we offer and when each is right.
1. Fixed-Price Project
We scope the work, agree a written specification and quote one price in US dollars. Milestones are defined up front and payment follows delivery, not the calendar.
Best for: a clearly-defined MVP, a rebuild, an integration — anything where you know what "done" looks like.
Watch out for: genuine discovery work. If requirements will change fortnightly, a fixed price gets padded or fought over — say so early and we will recommend another model.
2. Dedicated Development Team
A self-contained squad on your product full time — developers, QA and a project manager who runs delivery. They work only on your roadmap and report progress rather than waiting for direction.
Best for: an evolving product with a long roadmap, a founder without an in-house CTO, or an offshore development centre without setting up an entity abroad.
Watch out for: under-communicating. A dedicated team needs a product owner who can answer questions within a day, or velocity drops.
3. Staff Augmentation
Our engineers plug into your existing team — your board, your stand-ups, your code review, your engineering manager. We handle contracts, payroll, equipment and cover; you handle the work.
Best for: teams that already have engineering leadership and need more hands, a missing skill, or cover for a departure.
Watch out for: onboarding debt. With no docs or setup guide, budget the first week for ramp-up — true of any new hire.
Engagements often move between models — a fixed-price MVP converts into a dedicated team once the product is live, with the same engineers, so nothing is lost.
What It Actually Costs — Rate Benchmark in USD
Here is the number most people came for, without the "contact us for pricing" dance. Senior Nigerian engineers are quoted in the $25–$60 per hour band in US dollars; the same seniority through a US or UK agency is typically $100–$200 per hour. That is a market-rate gap, not a quality gap.
Mid-Level Engineer
$25–$35 / hour
Three to five years of production experience. Ships features confidently inside an established codebase. About $4,000–$5,600 a month full time.
Senior Engineer
$35–$50 / hour
Owns architecture decisions, reviews others' code, handles ambiguous problems. About $5,600–$8,000 a month full time.
Specialist / Lead
$45–$60 / hour
DevOps, security, AI/ML, payments integrations, or a technical lead running a squad. About $7,200–$9,600 a month full time.
Monthly figures assume roughly 160 hours. Rates move within those bands with commitment length, stack and headcount. You get a written quote per role before signing, invoiced in US dollars against a timesheet or milestone.
The honest comparison
A senior in-house hire in the US or UK costs well beyond salary once you add employer taxes, benefits, equipment and recruitment fees. A dedicated engineer through us is one monthly invoice, cancellable on notice, staffed in days. What you give up is physical presence — if you genuinely need someone in the room daily, hire locally and we will say so on the call.
Why Nigeria for Software Outsourcing
Nigeria is the largest technology market in Africa and has produced serious engineers for over a decade — people who built payment infrastructure, lending platforms and consumer apps handling real money at scale. The practical reasons to outsource here:
English is the working language
English is Nigeria's official language and the language of education, business and every codebase, ticket and stand-up here. No translation layer, no rewritten requirements, no ambiguity in code review.
UTC+1 — a day that overlaps
West Africa Time is one hour ahead of London and level with most of continental Europe, so UK and EU clients share almost a full working day. Australian clients reach us in their mornings; US clients in their afternoons.
Deep, current commercial stacks
Laravel and PHP, Flutter, React Native, React, Node, Python and Postgres are the everyday stacks of Nigerian product teams, not academic exercises. Our engineers ship payment integrations, KYC flows and offline-tolerant mobile apps routinely.
A registered company, not a marketplace profile
You sign with a business that has premises in Asaba and Abuja and a five-year record of 250+ delivered projects — not an anonymous freelancer account that can disappear mid-sprint.
Roles and Stacks We Staff
We staff complete squads or individual specialists across the stacks below. If a role is missing, ask.
Hiring for one stack in particular? See hire Laravel developers in Nigeria, hire React Native developers in Nigeria, or hire app developers in Nigeria. Agencies needing capacity delivered under their own brand should read white-label development for agencies instead.
IP, NDAs, Code Ownership and Security
This is where most buyers hesitate, reasonably. Handing a codebase and production credentials to a team on another continent is a real risk if the paperwork is sloppy.
You own everything, from day one
All IP — source code, designs, schemas, infrastructure-as-code, documentation — is assigned to you in the contract before work starts. Wherever possible we commit into your repository under your organisation account, so ownership is a fact of the setup, not a future promise. No lock-in.
NDA before the brief
We sign a mutual NDA before you send anything sensitive — yours or ours, whichever your legal team prefers. Every engineer is individually bound by confidentiality terms, and we never reuse client code or business logic elsewhere.
Least-privilege access
Engineers get the minimum access the work requires, scoped per person and revoked the day they roll off. Credentials live in a secret manager, never in chat. If you would rather we never touch production, we work against staging and hand you the deployment.
Data handling and compliance
Where a project touches personal data we work to your obligations — Nigeria's NDPA, or GDPR and equivalents where your users are. In practice: synthetic data in development, no production dumps on laptops, encrypted transport and storage.
Onboarding in About 48 Hours
For bench-available roles, first message to first commit is typically two working days.
Step 1 — Tell us what you need (same day)
Message us on WhatsApp or send the brief through the contact form: roles, stack, duration and what the team will work on. A conversation, not a sales sequence.
Step 2 — Shortlist and interview (24 hours)
We come back with named engineers, their real experience and their rate. You interview them yourself. Nobody is assigned that you have not approved, and if the shortlist is wrong we go again.
Step 3 — Contract, NDA and IP assignment
A short master services agreement covering rates, notice period, confidentiality and assignment of all IP to you. Signed digitally, usually same day, with USD payment terms.
Step 4 — Access and environment setup
Repository, project board, communication channels, secret manager, staging environment. Engineers get local environments running and read the existing code before touching it, writing the setup guide as they go.
Step 5 — Kickoff and first sprint
A call to agree scope, sprint length, reporting format and the definition of done. The first sprint is deliberately small, so a full cycle of build, review, QA and demo completes quickly and both sides see how the relationship feels.
Step 6 — Steady state and honest reporting
Daily stand-ups in your time zone, a demo each sprint, and a written summary of what shipped, what slipped and why. If work is going badly you hear it in the weekly report, not in month three.
How We Work Day to Day
Your tools, not ours
Jira, Linear, Trello, ClickUp, GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Teams — we work inside whatever you already use. If you have no setup yet, we bring one and you own the accounts.
Reviewed, tested, traceable code
Feature branches, pull requests, peer review before merge, automated tests where they earn their keep, CI on every push. Every change traces to a ticket and a reviewer.
Infrastructure and handover
Deployments scripted, environments reproducible, secrets managed, monitoring in place. If the engagement ends, another team can pick the project up from the repository and README.
Who Hires a Dedicated Team in Nigeria
Engagement patterns, not named accounts — we do not publish client names without written permission.
The funded startup with a long roadmap
A backlog that would take one local hire two years. A four-person squad ships it in months at a burn the runway supports — see pricing for how a squad is costed.
The agency with more pipeline than capacity
An agency sells more build work than it can deliver and will not hire permanently for a peak. Augmentation, or full white-label delivery under the agency's own brand, closes the gap.
The non-technical founder
A founder with a market and no CTO needs the whole delivery function. A dedicated team gives them architecture, build, QA and releases on one monthly invoice — plus full code ownership, so a future CTO inherits an asset, not a dependency.
The established company filling a skill gap
A strong backend team with no mobile capability, or a DevOps engineer lost at the worst moment. One or two augmented specialists slot into the existing process — see hiring app developers in Nigeria.
What Can Go Wrong — and How to Prevent It
Nearly every outsourcing failure we have been asked to rescue traces back to one of these.
No single decision-maker on the client side
If four stakeholders send contradictory instructions, no team delivers well. Name one product owner who can decide within a day.
Fixed price on a scope nobody wrote down
A fixed price only works when "done" is defined. If requirements are still forming, take a dedicated team or augmentation and keep the flexibility — it costs less than the change requests would.
Buying on rate alone
There is always someone cheaper. A $10/hour developer whose work needs rewriting costs far more than a $40/hour engineer who does it once. Interview the people you will actually get, and be suspicious of any provider who will not let you.
Code you cannot take back
If the repository, servers and domain all sit in the vendor's accounts, you do not own your product — you rent it. Insist on IP assignment and on holding the accounts yourself. We set engagements up that way as standard.
